4x4Beast Fabrication Builds Bob's Toyota FJ Cruiser

We couldn't wait to get started on our first Toyota FJ Cruiser. Bumper to bumper protection, yeah!

Bob came to us looking for complete protection from trail hazards. This FJ is a daily driver and expedition style wheeler so we kept the weight down while still providing enough strength to protect from the occasional rock.

Originally we created a plate steel front bumper since Bob had seen one and liked that look. After driving his rig he decided to bring it back and go with a lighter tube bumper.

Toyota FJ Cruiser Front Plate Steel Bumper

Bob originally wanted a plate steel front bumper with an integrated winch mount.
Bumper was fabbed from steel plate, 1-1/2" tubing with stout clevis tabs for extracting stuck Jeeps.

Toyota FJ Cruiser Rock Sliders

Rockin' Toyota FJ Cruiser Rock Sliders utilizing 1-1/2" tubing nearly a quarter inch thick and welded to the frame for a no nonsense "weld em & forget em" approach.

Toyota FJ Cruiser Rear Bumper

First photo shows what the FJ's protection looks like behind the plastic facade, laughable eh? Big John used the FJ's existing steel bumper frame to create a rear bumper suitable for bashing, strapping and towing. Matching 1.5" tubing wraps around to protect the sides, shackle tabs tie securely into the frame and the bumper is capped off with plate steel for strength as well as making for a great step when getting gear on/off the roof.

Toyota FJ Cruiser Rear Corner Protectors

First photo shows what the FJ's corner protection looks like behind the plastic piece, whatever! Using 1/4" steel plate, Big John fabbed some corners that look nearly stock but will protect far beyond the originals.
